It seems my last post didn't appear properly. Anyways, the most important day is here!
The last day of school! I would have more "o"s in the word school, but I think you get the point.
Our homework was to finish two new graphics programs, but I think these ones are going to be easier than the bouncing one.
Well, that's all for today! Bye for now, merry Christmas, and have a happy new year!

Just keep on bouncing!
The Christmas break is fast approaching, and we're getting into the mood with a nice graphics assignment!
Everybody seemed to be over-complicating things, until Mr.Arkin told us that we only needed one loop. That definitely threw some people off (like me), so I completely started over. I'm only missing one if statement, but I'm not quite sure what it should be yet. Anyways, that's pretty much all we did for today so bye for now!

Off of the walls!
Today we received our first graphics assignment, which was to ask the user for a character and to make that character bounce off the walls. I'm quite sure that the bouncing is part of a for loop, or something other than an if statement.
Other than that, we also got our tests back. I think this test will definitely help me study for finals when they come after Christmas break, so I'm glad we had them.
That's all that happened today, so bye for now!

Second programming test!
Today every ICS class had their tests, and all I'm going to say is that it was different. It felt easier than our first test, but I'm not sure if that's just my opinion.
Once that was over we had a few minutes left, which Mr.Arkin used to introduce us to graphics. I have already fiddled around with it, but I'm sure that there are some basic things about graphics that I haven't learned yet.
Tomorrow we will get started with graphics, and I'm pretty excited! That's all for today, so bye for now!

Continuing the path 4 freedom!
Yesterday we left off at our quest on making everybody in the class have a perfect understanding (level four, hence the title) of everything we have done in programming so far. Our group made some very good progress, as we have made it well past the three-quarter mark of the work we have done.
Our classes are definitely going to be moving a lot slower these next few days, but it's all to make sure that everybody understands what we have been learning so far!

4 THE WIN!
Today was quite an interesting day, so let me tell you why.
First we wrote down a number from one to four representing our knowledge and understanding of the programming unit so far. Then we were put into groups with the people who didn't think they knew very much, so that we could help them get better. Our goal by Monday is to have everybody in the group up to date with everything that is going on!
Tomorrow is the next day of our little tutoring groups, so I'll inform you on what happens next tomorrow!

For the loops?
Today in ICS we learned how to create our own functions! This will definitely save a lot more space and make the program more easier to write and edit for the programmer.
On another topic, we learned about for loops! Much like functions, they have their own little section, so somethings are declared inside the loop.
Well I seem to be coming down with a bad cold, so I'm going to go. See you tomorrow!

Enjoy the new background?
My blogs are now slightly more appealing, thanks to a little fiddling with the layout and design.
So, today most of us are passing the halfway mark on our substring assignments, and it's evident that they are getting much harder. The 10th one was the hardest so far, since I wasn't very familiar with the procedure "ord".
We are going to be having a test on Friday, so I'm a little nervous. As long as it has nothing too complex, I think I'll be fine.
Mr.Arkin has been sick for a while now, and we wait for him to come back on Friday. By then we should all have done our substring assignments at least past the 15th one.
Anyways, today was another slow day. We enjoyed having our substitute, and I think she had a very relaxing time.
Bye for now!
